Men in Black Agent James Darrell Edwards III, also known as Jay is a part of the MiB Corporation set to take down aliens. Will Smith in the Men in Black trilogy portrays Agent J who is very energetic and tries to bring some life and emotion back into the bland organization. Originally J was an officer of the New York Police Department (NYDP). During his time as an officer, he chases down and catches up with an extremely fast alien disguised as a human. The unknown alien gives Jay a serious warning concerning the Earth’s very existence before jumping off the side of a building. Some time later Jay is interrogated by a fellow police officer when suddenly a man in a black suit arrives and explains to Jay the man he chased down earlier was none other than an alien. After talking for a bit, the man in black allows Jay to pursue a career in the secret organization. When he arrives at an unknown location, Jay goes through a training program for recruits and fails terribly but Agent K and Zed realize his potential and bring him into the group of alien crime fighting. Although, Jay was reluctant to join at first and didn’t believe anything, he soon changes his mind after meeting the worms – a strange race of aliens. The day he is no longer James Darrell Edwards the III, but Agent J, the newest member of the Men in Black.
